Artist Biography/Statement
Dawn Emerson is a mixed media artist residing in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. After raising four children, Dawn went back to university to pursue her dream to be an artist and she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Education. She now works full time as an artist, portraying her interpretation of the natural environment of both man and nature through her art.
Dawn’s paintings have beautiful textures created with gels, paint, papers, and collected items related to the subject matter. She also hides images/prose within her paintings, creating another layer of subliminal messages. Her fresh, individual style creates paintings that come alive with an energetic and unique presence. Dawn Emerson’s artwork has its own visual language and trademark of distinction.
Dawn has had numerous art exhibitions and her artwork is represented throughout Canada and the United States.
